Web development for Nanaimo. Built an hour west, on Highway 4.
Valley Edge is based in Port Alberni up Highway 4 from the Island Highway. There is no Nanaimo office and this page is not pretending otherwise. What there is: a custom site, built for the business, and someone still answering after it launches.
$350/month · no build fee · your domain in your name
- Fixed scope, in writing
- Domain and hosting in your name

Two ferry terminals and an airport. Half your visitors are not here yet.
Departure Bay sails to Horseshoe Bay. Duke Point sails to Tsawwassen. The airport is south at Cassidy. Nanaimo is the mainland door onto the Island, which means a real share of the people opening your website are on a boat, in a car, or in a departure lounge, deciding whether to stop.
It changes what the first screen has to answer
Someone who already lives here knows where you are and whether you are any good. Someone who lands at Departure Bay at 4pm does not. They want three facts fast: are you open right now, where exactly are you, and how long from the terminal. A site built for the first person buries all three under an About page.
On a phone, on data
Not on office wifi. Every page here is measured at 360px wide, the narrowest phone still in the wild, before it goes anywhere.
Hours that are actually current
A stale hours page is the most expensive page a business runs. Changing it is included in the monthly price, not billed as a job.
Nanaimo is the word on the door. It is rarely the size of the market.
The Regional District of Nanaimo runs from Bowser to Cedar. Parksville and Qualicum Beach up the highway, Lantzville and Nanoose in between, Cedar and Yellow Point to the south, and Gabriola a short sailing off the downtown waterfront. Most Nanaimo businesses sell into all of it.
Say where you actually go
A site that names only the city tells a Parksville customer nothing about whether you will drive up there. The fix is not a page per town, which is the spam pattern. It is one honest service-area sentence, and a Google Business Profile whose service area matches it.
The city has a September
Vancouver Island University and the regional hospital anchor a working population that turns over on a school year and a shift roster. If your quiet month is August and your phone rings in September, the site should say so rather than showing summer hours in the fall.
Ferry-dependent customers
Gabriola is a sailing away, not a drive. If you serve it, that is a real logistics fact a customer needs on the page before they call, rather than a conversation you have twelve times a month.
Nanaimo has web shops. Port Alberni does not.
This is the one Island city where you have a genuine local choice, so the useful thing this page can do is say what is different here rather than pretend there is nothing to compare against.
A custom website of up to five pages, with hosting, domain, SSL, backups, updates and small changes included. Published on the site, not quoted in a meeting.
See the full plan- The price is printed. You can compare it before you call.
- Custom-coded, not a theme with your logo dropped in
- Whoever quotes the work builds it
- Anything outside the plan is quoted before it starts
- That we can put you first on Google. Nobody can promise a position, and anyone who does is selling you a guess.
- That a rebuild fixes a business problem. Sometimes the site is fine and the offer is not.
- That you need five pages if three will do it.
Do you have an office in Nanaimo?
No. Valley Edge is based in Port Alberni. The work, from scoping to launch to changes afterwards, is done remotely, and it is the same work either way.
What does $350 a month include?
A custom website of up to five pages, plus hosting, your domain, SSL, daily backups, security updates and small ongoing changes. There is no separate build fee.
Can you build stores or booking systems?
Yes. Online stores, booking systems, member portals and larger builds are scoped and quoted separately before work starts.
Do I own the website?
Yes. Your domain is registered in your name, and the website remains yours.
Nobody getting off the ferry can ask a neighbour.
Tell us what your business needs a stranger to see in the first ten seconds, and what it needs the regulars to find on page three. We will tell you what shipping it takes.
